Police Investigations

For CCTV recordings to be effective in detecting and investigating crime they must be fit for purpose and easily accessible by police investigators. For digital CCTV there are 4 main areas that must be considered:

• Quality - are the pictures good enough?
• Storage - are the pictures stored appropriately?
• Export - can the pictures be easily exported from the system?
• Playback - can the pictures be easily viewed by authorized third parties?

We offer a product range that can help you to build a home protection package to suit your needs. Audio Visual Security's packages are composed of two elements that feature an alarm system and a monitoring service. Our packages can also include fire & carbon monoxide detection as standard.

Intruder Alarms

Burglary is a crime that not only strips you of your valuable possessions, but also invades your personal privacy. The emotional distress of this crime cannot be measured. Our professional burglar alarm acts as a deterrent, and will reduce the likelihood of this crime happening to you.

Homes without security systems are nearly 3 times more likely to be broken into than homes with security systems. Businesses without alarm systems are 4.5 times more likely to be burgled than commercial locations with electronic security in place. (Source: Temple University) Therefore not only are you less likely to be broken into, but having a security system often reduces insurance costs enough to make it pay for itself within a few years.

Intruder and hold-up alarm systems installed by Audio Visual Security in domestic properties conform to the requirements of PD6662:2004 which is a UK scheme for the implementation of European Standard BSEN 50131-1:2004. As of October 2005 all intruder and hold-up alarm systems installed within the UK by approved companies must conform to these standards.

Intruder and hold-up alarm systems are now graded from grade 1 (lowest risk) to Grade 4 (highest risk). Audio Visual Security only installs systems which fall into grades 2, 3. Also an intruder and hold up alarm system can be 'audible only' or 'monitored', we will carry out a risk assessment at the survey stage and lease with customers and their insurers to determine which grade and type of system is required.

AUDIBLE ONLY SYSTEMS

Sometimes referred to as 'bells only' these systems can only be installed as a grade 2 system. This type of system is very popular in the UK and is installed mainly in domestic properties. In the event of the alarm being triggered by an intruder the system will usually activate an external sounder and a strobe providing an audible and visual method of alarm notification. Systems of this type can also operate automatic dialling equipment (known as a home automated monitoring system) which can be used to notify a key holder that the alarm has been triggered by either a voice message or SMS text message. Systems of this type cannot be used to dial the police.

Traffic Control Barriers are the perfect solution to secure car parks where an automated gate would be too slow. Audio Visual Security only supplies continually rated automatic barriers which ensure the installation is robust with the capability to deal with high volumes of traffic.

Manual Barriers are an ideal solution for low usage, securing a car park overnight, or for longer periods, using a secure locking device.

Our systems range from single door keypad coded access through to multi door software driven systems capable of managing even the largest of building complexes. We install Audio and Video entry systems and can provide interface connections for connection to other on-site systems if required.

Card Entry Systems are an ideal way of controlling access in and around your building. Systems range from standalone to multiple readers controlled by a PC. Cards can be programmed to only allow access into authorized areas.

Coded Entry Keypads are a cost effective method of allowing access through a single door. Codes can be periodically changed to enhance your security.

DDA Systems, these door entry panels and systems are designed to meet the requirements of the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA).
